In an attempt to explore place-based and seismological options, I explored a number of different themes on the shape of the Wasatch fault, common engineering diagrams, Salt Lake City's skyline, and more.
Logo Design for 12NCEE
I was approached by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute to design the logomarks for the 12th National Conference on Earthquake Engineering. Since the conference takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah - home of the 240 mile-long Wasatch fault - this fault line was used to generate design themes. For the first logo, the fault becomes the famous Wasatch mountain range. For the second one, the fault is superimposed on a shape of the state to show its length and prominence. This project took place over the course of one week.
